SYNOPSIS: Abandoned as a baby, Ye Yuxing is adopted from an orphanage by a loving foster mother in rural China. When her mother is diagnosed with a terminal illness, Yuxing is sent to live with her stern aunt. Set against the vast loess plateau, the film follows the young girl's resilience as she endures her aunt's harshness and bullying at school, refusing to let hardship break her spirit.
