SAMURAI MARATHON

SYNOPSIS: As American ships arrive on Japan’s shores at the end of the Edo period, a feudal lord orders his samurai retainers to compete in a grueling cross-country marathon to prepare them for the coming age of modernization. His headstrong daughter secretly joins the race disguised as a man, while a bumbling shogunate spy misreads the marathon as preparation for rebellion, setting off a chain of chaos and unexpected heroism.
