SYNOPSIS: Rika Umezawa is a quiet, dutiful contract employee at a Japanese bank, admired by clients for her attentive service but unfulfilled in a marriage to a husband who barely notices her. When she begins an affair with a much younger client, Kota, Rika finds herself drawn into a double life funded by embezzled client funds. Set in 1994 in the wake of Japan's economic bubble, her small deceptions escalate into an elaborate fraud, and as the stolen sums grow, so does her exhilarating, terrifying freedom from the life she was expected to live.
